Winmau Masters 2010 – 3 for Martin Adams, Jule Gore takes the Ladies

Martin Adams made it three in a row when he beat Englands Stuart Kellet in the final of the 2010 Winamu World Masters in Hull.  Having overcome a spirited Martin McCloskey in the semi final 6 – 3, Martin went on to beat Stuart 7 – 3 to retain his title.

Stuart had earlier overcome Martin Phillips 6 -5 in his semi final to ensure that the final featured the number 1 and number 2 seeds.

The ladies event was won by Julie Gore. She first won her semi final against Karin Krappen 4 – 3 before beating Francisca Hoenselaar 4 – 1 in the final. Francis had earlier beaten Lisa Ashton by 4 – 3 in the other semi final.

The girls event was won by Zoe Jones, and the boys by Reece Robinson.

Winmau Masters 2010 – Hull

Martin Adams remains on course for his 3rd. successive Masters title as he came through 2 close matches yesterday to win his place in the semi finals.

He was pushed all the way to the deciding leg by Jan Dekker, Netherlands in the last 16 before winning from England teammate Scott Waites 3 -1 in the quarter finals.

He is joined in the semi finals by Martin McCloskey, N. Ireland, second seed Stuart Kellet, England, and Martin Phillips, Wales.

Martin McCloskey first beat Tony O`Shea, another match going to the final leg. He followed that with a 3 – 0 win over Dean Winstanley. Read more



Lakeside World Pro 2011 – Qualifying Play Offs Updates

Englands Lorraine Farhlam and Belgiums Patricia de Peuter won their places at Lakeside in January. The standby player for the ladies is Wendy Reinstadtler, also from England.

In the mens event German youngster, Arno Merk, and Jan Dekker from the Netherlands won through from the International Qualifiers and Alan Soutar, Scotland, and Shaun Griffiths, England made it through the BDO Qualifiers. Andy Boulton, England is the standby player.

Bob Jones Memorial Canada – Titles for Robin Curry and Jerry Hull

Robin Curry has won the ladies singles title in Ontario last weekend. She beat fellow Canadian Trish Grzesik in the final.

Jerry Hull proved too strong for the other entries in the men`s singles when he took the title, defeating Dan Olson in the final.

Pat Oreal won this years Australian Masters singles title. He beat Wayne Weening in the final last weekend.

In the Rene Stevenson Memorial Open Sandra Smith took the title with Carol Forwood finishing as runner up.

Europe Cup 2010 – Turkey – Latest

Wales have won the ladies pairs final, defeating Republic of Ireland 6 – 2.  The win also ensures that the Welsh Ladies, Julie Gore and Rhian Edwards, take the overall title regardless of the results in the singles final.  In an all England final the mens pairs was won by Martin Adams and Scott Waites. They beat Daryll Fitton and Tony O`Shea 6 – 4.  Martin Phillips, Wales has won the mens singles title by beating Willy van de Wiel, Netherlands, 7 – 3.  Francis Hoenselaar wins the ladies, 7 – 5 against Julie Gore.  The mens team event has been won by Belgium 9 – 5 against the Netehrlands. That last result means that England are the overall European Champions in the mens and the Wales win the overall ladies event.  The final points tables can be found below:

Europe Cup 2010 – Turkey

Englands men will be hoping for some favours today as the finals get under way. With 12 points guaranteed in the mens pairs England could finish European Cup winners but only if Belgium and Wales step in to help them by defeating the Netherlands in the singles event and Team event.

In the singles event the Netherlands reached the final courtesy of Willy van de Wiel. Willy will face Martin Phillips from Wales.  The mens pairs was dominated by England as both teams reached the final.  The ladies singles final will be contested between former Lakeside World Champion Francis Hoenselaar and Julie Gore from Wales.  The finals get underway today at 9.00 am local time.
