6th International MariFlex Darts Open Tournament

MariFlex open to new location and entry has started

March 2012, the sixth edition of the International MariFlex Darts Open Tournament starts again. In March 2012, on Saturday the17th  and Sunday the  18th the various tournaments of  this WDF, BDO and  Zuiderduin Masters ranked tournament will be played. But there is a significant change.The location of the venue has changed to Sportcenter Vlaardingen aan de Zwanensingel 9 in Vlaardingen the Netherlands

The International MariFlex Darts Open Tournament includes mixed – men and women pairs tournaments on Saturday, March the 17th and Sunday, March the 18th, the men women boys and girls singles tournaments are played. The winners of these tournaments are allowed to play the Winmau World Masters and there is an extra bonus for the winning lady, boy and man  of the singles tournament. These players also receive a starting permit for participation in the world darts tournament in the Netherlands, the Zuiderduin Masters.

The MariFlex Open is an open tournament for everyone who is allowed to play the Winmau World Masters and Lakeside World Pro (this includes the single tournament) Meanwhile, the registration for the tournament has started. You can only enter this event with a total prize money of € 17,700.00 by pre-registration

Draw for Zuiderduin Masters is done

This afternoon in hotel Zuiderduin, the main sponsor of the longest running  world darts tournament in the Netherlands the draw is done for the 10th edition of the Zuiderduin Masters. This tournament is characterized by a very good format. It is played in 8 groups of 3 players, bringing the total to 24 of the best players of international darts.

Only the group winners after the competition qualify  to the quarterfinals, and the set up is that not earlier then  the third and final group match decisions are made. So until the last dart is thrown, there is tension and that is what the audience coming for.

According to the seeding of the British Darts Organization the groups are classified so each group a seeded player as group head. The two not seeded in a group have to play the openings match  on Friday. The seeded player comes in action on Saturday. First against the loser of the first match and later against the winner from the first match.

Besides the top 24 men’s tournament also a tournament is played with six best ladies of world darts and six youth players. Also these two tournaments start with a group stage and in the women’s tournament he numbers one and two of the Zuiderduin Masters women’s are seeded in a group.

For youth players no seeding but the six best players in the Dutch darts will compete for the first official  Zuiderduin Masters 2011 Youth title.

Winmau Unveiled as the Official Darts Equipment Partner of the Chinese Darts Association

14th November 2011, Shanghai, China: Winmau and the Chinese Darts Association (CDA) are delighted to announce their exclusive sponsorship of the China National Darts Open 2011 (staged by the Chinese Darts Association), which will see the world’s leading darts brand teamed with one of the most progressive and rapidly expanding darts organisations.

Winmau dartboards will be used in all competitions staged by the CDA, including the prestigious China National Darts Open, which takes place on 14th and 15th November 2011 in Shanghai.

In 1999 darts was officially approved by the Chinese government as a sport. In 2004 the CDA was founded and it is the official national darts organisation in China.
