Dutch Open 2017 – results

BAUHAUS Dutch Open Darts was played 03-05/02/2017 in de Bonte Wever, Assen, The Netherlands with 2968 men, 305 women, 232 boys and 27 girls. Also there was non WDF ranking the boys under 14 tournament.

Mark McGeeney and Deta Hedman won the BAUHAUS Dutch Open Darts 2017 titles. McGeeney won this tournament for the first time. Hedman won the title back in 2010 once. Scott Mitchell/James Hurrell and Aileen de Graaf/Sharon Prins took the trophees of the pairs event.

The BAUHAUS Dutch Open 2017 – NOTE 16/01 registration ends and youth can choose

Just like last year, only pre-registration is possible for all players until January 16th. Foreign players can pay their entree fee on the day. The BAUHAUS Dutch Open Youth 2017

The BAUHAUS Dutch Open Youth 2017 will take place on February 5th in the Bonte Wever Assen. The tournament starts at 10 am and will be organised in three different categories: Boys under 14 years old, Boys 14-17 years old and Girls (until 17 years old).

For the first time it is possible for boys under 14 years old to play in the Boys 14-17 category. They are free to choose, but can’t play in both tournaments. Only the tournaments for the boys 14-17 and girls are WDF ranked. This new rule is introduced for boys under 14 who want to play for WDF points.  Read more

Dutch Open Darts 2016 – results

DO Darts-16-01-139‘Wolfie’ Martin Adams is celebrating today after claiming his fourth Dutch Open Championship last night. The three times World Champion from Peterborough won three sets to one in a competition that attracted a field of more than 3,000 players. For Adams it was the fourth time he won this title. Earlier he became Dutch Open Champion in 2010, 2011 and 2015. In a thrilling final, his opponent Danny Noppert from Holland played well and threw a 170 and 161 finish.

Both darters were serenaded by the enthusiastic darts fans in the Bonte Wever in Assen. Martin ‘Wolfie’ Adams picked up the trophy and wins an amount of € 5,000 euros.The Englishman was lucky in the semi-final against Kevin McDine. Adams lost the first set, but because ‘Supa Mc’ missed a lot of doubles the experienced ‘Wolfie’ came back and won the match 2-1 in sets.

In the women’s final it was Lisa Ashton who won the title for the first time. In a thrilling final against Lorraine Winstanley she bent a 4-2 deficit into a 5-4 victory. We also have three fantastic youth champions. Maikel Verberk claimed the boys title for the second time in a row, Priscilla Steenbergen took the girls title and Gian van Veen was the strongest by the under 14.DO Darts-16-01-230

Registration Dutch Open Darts closes on January 15th

-DEO0349PRESS RELEASE:  DUTCH OPEN DARTS 2016 DUTCH DARTS ASSOCIATION NIEUWEGEIN – 06.01.2016

The 38th edition of the Dutch Open Darts will take place from 29th till the 31st of January 2016 in ‘De Bonte Wever’ in the Netherlands. This event is still the largest and liveliest BDO/WDF open darts tournament in the world. Make sure you will be part of this and register now, before it is too late!

Entries are going fast and you have only until Friday January 15th 12 o’clock to register! Go to www.dutchopendarts.nl/en and sign up. All players (including youth!) must register through our website and it will only take a few minutes. Payment for foreign players is not necessary, this will be done at the event.

The Dutch Open Darts is ranked by the World Darts Federation and British Darts Organisation and carries places in the Winmau World Masters 2016 for winners of the Men’s, Ladies and Youth Singles. The final playing schedule will be published online in the week prior to the tournament.

The finals of the Dutch Open Darts 2016 will be broadcast live on Dutch Television by RTV Drenthe! It can also be seen on Winmau TV.

On Sunday 31st of January the Dutch Open Darts Youth 2016 will take place in ‘De Bonte Wever’ in the Netherlands. This is the largest open darts youth tournament in the world! Make sure you will be part of this and register now! Go to www.dutchopendarts.nl/en and sign up! Be aware that registration closes on January 15th, so in the 2016 edition it is not possible to register in the venue!

The Dutch Open Youth will be played in three categories: Boys under 14 years, Girls (up to 17 years) and Boys (14 up to 17 years). The kids that will make it to the finals of the three different categories are offered an amazing experience: they will play their final game on stage live on Dutch television and worldwide on Winmau-TV!

The winners of the Dutch Open Youth will receive price money, a trophy and will be honoured on2 the big Dutch Open Darts stage. Besides that the tournament is WDF ranked and the winners of the Boys and Girls tournament will receive a ticket for the Winmau World Masters 2016 as well.

Important: youth players who are 16 or 17 years old, are allowed to play in both the men’s or ladies tournament (Saturday) and in the youth tournament on Sunday. However you can’t participate in the youth tournament on Sunday if you still active in the men’s or ladies tournament on Sunday.

The Dutch Open Darts 2016 takes place from January 29th until the 31st, in De Bonte Wever in Assen. This is still the largest and liveliest open darts tournament in the world, so make sure you are part of it and register now.

There will be Singles events for men, ladies and youth players with reigning champions Martin Adams and Aileen de Graaf defending their titles. On Friday their will also be a Pairs tournament.

Not only will you have a chance to play against a world class player, you will also get a chance to play live on television and in front of thousands of darts fans. There is a prize fund of more than 33.000 Euros and the event carries places in the 2016 Winmau World Masters for men, ladies and youth players.

Adams and de Graaf champions

DOD-15-01-895Martin Adams and Aileen de Graaf have won the Dutch Open Darts 2015. For Adams it was the third time he won this title. Earlier he became Dutch Open Champion in 2010 and 2011. In the final, Adams played against Darryl Fitton and won in 3 sets to 1. Fitton nevertheless was very happy himself too. In the third leg of the fourth set, the ‘Dazzler’ threw a nine-darter and the crowd was going crazy.

Both English darters were beaming on stage and were serenaded by thousands of darts fans. Adams won the first prize and wins an amount of € 5,000 euros while Fitton took the keys to his brand new Broekhuis Skoda car.

In the women’s final it was again Aileen de Graaf who won the title for the second year in a row. In a thrilling final against Deta Hedman the Dutch lady managed to decide the final 5-2 in her favour.

We also have three fantastic youth champions. Maikel Verberk claimed the boys title and Sofie Jahn Bensdorf took the girls title. Levy Frauenfelder was the strongest by the under 14. Click here for youth results.
