BAUHAUS Dutch Open Darts has a home for three years in ‘De Bonte Wever’!

The BAUHAUS Dutch Open Darts will be played in ‘De Bonte Wever’ in Assen for the next three years. The next edition of the world’s biggest open will take place from Friday the 2nd until Sunday the 4th of February 2018. Also, the 2019 and 2020 tournaments will take place in the renovated and expanded hotel and entertainment centre in the north of the Netherlands.

“We are very pleased with this agreement and the improvements being made to De Bonte Wever,” said Paul Engelbertink on behalf of the Dutch Darts Association. “With the significant expansion that De Bonte Wever is currently undergoing, the complex will grow considerably which suits the ambition of our event. In the coming years, games will no longer be played in marquees and we can welcome more spectators and darters under one roof.”

Niels de Ruiter, tournament director of the Dutch Open Darts adds: “The relationship and cooperation with De Bonte Wever is fantastic. We have greatly improved the event in all aspects in recent years – The exposure, number of participants and the finance. Together with the team of De Bonte Wever, we will ensure that the BAUHAUS Dutch Open Darts remains the biggest and best darts event. The party tent will certainly remain!”

Each year the event attracts thousands of dart players and spectators to the capital of Drenthe, and Christa de Ruiter, Director of De Bonte Wever, is delighted about the new three-year agreement: “The event fits perfectly with our company and our ambitions! The coming period extends the De Bonte Wever complex to include 80 guest rooms, two restaurants, a lobby, Grand Cafe, recreation room, a new entrance, a multi-functional conference and events venue, and multiple meeting rooms. We look forward to hosting this unique top event over the next three years and to welcome all the guests in our new complex. We see it as a great challenge, along with the Dutch Darts Association, to make the tournament even bigger!”
